# Software Installation Request

> Request software to be installed on your device, either from a software template or by adding individual software.

A Software Installation request asks IT to install software on your device. You can start from a software template or add software one item at a time. After you submit it, the request follows the configured approval workflow before being approved, rejected, or returned for revision.

## Create a Software Installation Request

### Prerequisites

Before submitting a Software Installation request:

* You must have an active employee account.

    ### Software Installation

    Your name, employee ID, organization level, position, and grade are displayed at the top of the section.

    | From Template     | Software template that fills in a standard set of software, such as Designer. |          | Designer               |

## Approval Workflow

The request is reviewed by the approvers assigned to the requester, then sent to IT for installation.
