# Closing Overview

> View and manage fiscal year and accounting period information throughout the closing process. Supports monitoring period dates, closing statuses, and period-closing task progress across current, open, locked, closed, and year-end periods.

  Closing tasks must be initialized for the fiscal year before they can be tracked in Closing Overview.

  Closing tasks are configured in the **Administration Management** module. Active tasks configured there are used to track period-closing activities after closing is initialized for the fiscal year.
